Martin is no stranger to John's methods, and he thinks his intentions have been made clear enough to be getting on with. Still, he can see how this might be a bit surprising — emotionally speaking, Martin has a considerably larger pivot to make — so John summons the requisite patience to not simply push Martin back against the cushions. Christ, he wants nothing more than to treat him as magnificently as he knows how, to show him exactly how little it would matter if anyone else ever took a shine to him. If Martin insists on prizing John's attentions so highly, the least John can do is be generous with them.

He begins by bending to press a delicate kiss against Martin's jaw, his hand drifting back so he can gently curl his fingers in Martin's hair. "I think you know what I mean," he replies, still tucked close enough for his lips to brush against Martin's neck as he speaks.
