If John was grinning before, Martin's stammering attempt at a denial has him outright beaming. The Eye's gifts have done nothing to diminish the satisfaction of making a successful, old-fashioned guess. He's right! He still can't quite believe it, but he knows it's true, and he communicates as much with a wordless little 'ah!' and a triumphantly accusing point of his finger.
