"Apparently," Dani says, a little wry, though not unkind. She would have thought that was obvious even without the visitor's badge to give him away — not that there's any one specific type or age of person who can be in a university library, but it's a vibe, really, something that strikes her as distinctly non-collegiate. It leaves her curious, still a little skeptical, eyeing him a bit quizzically, as if waiting for some further explanation.

Even so, she's not going to be rude about it. She's not sure why he's here, and looking for some local history is sort of fantastically vague, but it's at least somewhere to start. For a moment, she almost wishes she were at work instead, territory where she's come to feel a little more comfortable, but she has, at least, spent more time here than he has, so that's a start.

"I don't really know what they have in history," she explains, gesturing with a tilt of her head to the shelf beside her. "I mostly hang out here in the psych section. But I think I know where it is, if you want…?"

If there is some other reason he's here, she figures that will be apparent quickly enough. And if there's not, if it really is as simple as it sounds, then she'll just save a stranger the trouble of getting lost in the stacks of a college library.
