Statement Begins
Aug. 1st, 2030 03:05 pmShould you wish to leave a Statement for The Archive (or, more specifically, the Archivist), you may do so here. This post is intended to be a convenient one-stop shop for all of the Statements that have been collected by willing donors.
It should be noted that all Statements are considered private by default. John will be reading or listening to them all, and other Archive staff (particularly Martin) may see them as well, but they are not considered part of the publicly accessible records collection that The Archive houses.
There are three ways to leave a Statement:
The first two options can be linkdumped to the main community and counted towards reqs; the third would just be a very kind favor to John that he would appreciate very much.
As far as potential side-effects go: John will let your pup know that giving a direct Statement may increase the odds of them having unpleasant nightmares, and might make the trauma feel fresher for a while. Whether your pup actually experiences anything is entirely up to you, but if you DO want them to have Archivist-haunted nightmares, just let me know. Also, please be aware that the Archivist-haunted nightmares can be expected to recur regularly for a long time.

There are three ways to leave a Statement:
- Direct Statement: we could play it out in a thread; your pup can enter The Archive, request to leave a Statement, and be shown to John's office, where he will listen to your story with unnerving intensity.
- Written Statement: you can write out your pup's Statement in its entirety, like a one-shot journal entry, and link it below.
- Summary Statement: you can leave a general summary of what your pup's Statement is about and any relevant details. We can either handwave that it was given directly, or say it was written so John can record it himself later.
